Mungindi is a small, rural border town uniquely located on both sides of the NSW and Queensland border. The town, separated by the Barwon River, is situated approximately 120km north-west of Moree. Mungindi has a population of 800 people and offers travellers warm, country hospitality.
The Artesian Bore was drilled at Mungindi in 1996 at a depth of 1037 metres. Thermal water from the Great Artesian Basin in the 5.8m x 3m pool is kept at approximately 38 degrees – rest and rejuvenate in our mineral-rich, naturally filtered, thermal artesian waters. To keep cool in the summer months there is also a 33 m pool and for families a children’s wading pool. The complex includes shower and toilet facilities.
